2019 Art Camp all three nights
Holy Communion and Healing Service - this past Sunday! Thanks to everyone who attended. Join us on Sundays at 10:45 am.
Wednesday at 6pm Pastor Chris continue the short series on Social Principles of the UMC. Wednesday's topic is the dangers of human trafficking.
Men's Breakfast at LUMC this morning. Thanks to the cooks - Bob, Dwain, Mike, Jim and ALL the "boys" - for the delicious blueberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage and bacon! Men (young and old) join us on the last Saturday of each month at 8am for fellowship, breakfast, prayer and a devotion.
Thanks to all the young artists registered for Art Camp this year! We reached our registration goal much quicker than we expected this year. We'll see all the campers on July 15.
Thank you Laura Broyles and others who led our children and youth in painting "I love you" rocks for our shut-ins and homebound folks. They will be out for delivery in the next few days. We love our church family - especially those with limited mobility.
Special thanks to April Ray-Berry of the Pregnancy Help Center in LaFollette for sharing with us the importance of this local ministry and their focus on uplifting life - both the unborn and born. Join us next Wednesday as we continue our study on Social Principles in the UMC as we explore the dangers of human trafficking. #PregnancyCenterLaFollette We are having April back in next month to advertise the services and volunteer opportunities of the Pregnancy Help Center and Catholic Charities of East Tennessee.
This Wednesday, beginning at 6pm, Pastor Chris will lead a presentation and discussion on three major social principles of the UMC: abortion (and gendercide), human trafficking and immigration. These relevant topics are in the news daily and everyone seems to have an opinion, but what does the Bible say about them? Are there any passages, principles or teachings that might help Christians form a Biblical view of these issues? How does our personal opinions measure up with the Word of God? And, what position does the UMC have on each?
